About

Brooklyn-based mezzo-soprano Donna Breitzer enjoys a varied schedule of solo and ensemble performances in NYC and beyond. Equally versatile in early music, contemporary works, art song, opera, and sacred music, Donna is an in-demand performer in both small and large ensemble settings. Recent performance highlights include appearances with the American Classical Orchestra, Voices of Ascension, the New York Festival of Song, the New York Virtuoso Singers, the Bard Festival Chorale/American Symphony Orchestra, and The Metropolitan Opera, where she has been a member of the Extra Chorus since 2014.

In addition to performing, Donna maintains a private voice teaching studio in New York City, and formerly worked as Adjunct Instructor of Voice at NYU Steinhardt. In 2024, she stepped down from her longtime role as Executive Director and now serves as Treasurer of Five Boroughs Music Festival, which she co-founded in 2007. Drawing from nearly 20 years' experience in arts administration, she now consults for small- to medium-size music nonprofits, focusing on development, grantwriting, organizational governance and financial stewardship.
